Auxiliary Task: TV Magazine Masthead Flat Plans

Masthead Idea 1
This design looks very similar to existing mastheads. The text is contained in a rounded box and will consist of the colours red and white. The font I would use would be a rounded basic font, perhaps Trebuchet or Calibri. This would look nice at the top left of a front page. However, I think this looks too similar to the masthead used by What's On Tv and because of this, I will not use this masthead.

Masthead Idea 2

This design looks a lot like existing examples of mastheads. The lettering would be red with a thick white outline. Red, white and blue are popular colours to use in a masthead, therefore by using these colours the audience can relate to my product. I like this masthead and this will be the masthead I will use. This is because the masthead is unique but fits in with genre conventions. It is contained and would fit on the front page of a listings magazine and it is something that audiences can relate to. 

Masthead Idea 3

This masthead is very unique. It also nicely contained and fits in with some genre conventions. However, I feel as if it is too different from existing mastheads and the audiences wouldn't be able to relate to it. I also feel as if the logo could look slightly unprofessional. The rounded font however, fits in with the conventions of a TV magazine masthead and the colours I would have used would have been blue and red.
