Costumes: Did they match designs?

Biker's Costume
The bikers costume was just as I had planned out. This is because I had already seen the costume before starting the project so therefore I had a rough idea of what the vest looked like. The costume is iconographic as it through the reflective vest, logo and text on the back; audiences will know exactly who the character is even if they have no idea what the documentary is about.

Nurse's Costume
Fortunately, I was able to get a nurse's costume from the drama department in the college. However, if I were making this documentary by myself and not as a college project I would have had to have bought or leased the costume. The costume looked very real, especially with the name badge we created. Again, this costume denotes that my documentary is a paramedic documentary.

Doctor's Costume
Unfortunately, I was unable to get hold of a lab coat. However, this was no trouble at all as quite often doctors don't wear lab coats. Therefore, Mark wore a smart looking shirt accompanied by a tie and smart trousers. This connotes that he is of importance, which doctors are in hospitals. I also managed to get a name tag, clip board and stethoscope to complete the look.

Patient's Costume
I was not able to get hold of a patients gown for filming, so I used a large white t-shiort from George. This worked well as you could only see the upper half of Grace's body. I also covered in bandages and stuck wires to her body using plasters. She also has a oxygen mask to breathe through. Although I couldn't get the bracelet and gown, I think I made the patient look believable through the substitute costume.

  1. Fantastic demonstration of how your planning informed the production of your documentary. Demonstrating your extremely careful planning of costume.
